Illustration of a Dragon Tiger table: a dealer points at the King of spades on the Dragon side, which beats the 7 of hearts on the Tiger side. Notes around the table: one card each, the higher card wins, Ace is low (1) and King is high (13), about 25 seconds per round, Tie pays 11:1 at Evolution, on a tie Dragon and Tiger bets lose half, and the house edge is 3.73%.

Dragon Tiger is the fastest card game in any live casino. Two cards, one for Dragon and one for Tiger, and the higher card wins. There is nothing to calculate and no third card, and a round is over in about 25 seconds. No wonder the Dragon Tiger game became one of the most searched casino games in India.

Below: the full rules, every bet and payout, the real house edge, what actually helps (and what is a scam), and where to play Dragon vs Tiger online for real money.

Quick answer: In Dragon Tiger, the dealer places one card on Dragon and one on Tiger. You bet on which card will be higher, or on a Tie. Kings are highest, aces lowest. Dragon and Tiger pay 1:1; a Tie pays 8:1 to 11:1 depending on the studio. If the cards tie, Dragon and Tiger bets lose half.

What Is the Dragon Tiger Game?

Dragon Tiger is a two-sided card game that started in Cambodia and spread through Asian casinos before reaching live studios. You will also see it called Dragon vs Tiger, and it is often described as "one-card baccarat": you bet on one of two sides, like Player and Banker, but each side gets a single card and there are no drawing rules.

It is dealt from a standard shoe, usually eight 52-card decks. The simplicity makes it a favourite with Indian players who already know fast games like Andar Bahar and Teen Patti.

Dragon Tiger Rules: How to Play

  1. Place your bet on Dragon, Tiger or Tie. Side bets are optional.
  2. The dealer deals one card face up to Dragon and one to Tiger.
  3. The higher card wins. Cards rank from lowest to highest: Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King.
  4. Suits do not matter for the main bets. A King of spades and a King of hearts are a tie.
  5. Bets are settled and the next round begins.

That is the entire game. Because there is no third card and no player decisions, knowing how to play Dragon Tiger takes about a minute. Winning over the long run is another matter, and we cover that below.

The tie rule matters. When Dragon and Tiger tie, bets on Dragon or Tiger lose half their stake. A ₹1,000 bet on Dragon returns only ₹500 if the round ends in a tie. This rule is where most of the house edge comes from.

Side bets depend on the studio: Evolution's classic table offers only Tie and Suited Tie, while Pragmatic Play and Playtech add Big/Small and Odd/Even for each side. Check the paytable at your table before betting.

How to Win at Dragon Tiger: Tips and Strategy

No method changes the house edge. These tips help you lose less and keep sessions under control.

  • Stick to Dragon or Tiger. At 3.73%, they are by far the cheapest bets. It makes no difference which one you pick.
  • Avoid the Tie at 8:1. A 32.77% house edge is one of the worst bets in the casino. At 11:1 it is less bad but still nearly three times worse than Dragon or Tiger.
  • Mind the speed. At roughly 25 seconds per round, you can play over 100 hands an hour. Lower your stake so your budget lasts.
  • Set a stop loss and a win goal. Decide both before the first bet and stop when you hit either.
  • Be careful with betting systems. Martingale and other progressions only change the size of your bets. A losing streak plus table limits can wipe out a session quickly.

Is There a Dragon Tiger Trick That Works?

Only one, and it is not a secret: bet on Dragon or Tiger, keep stakes small and walk away on time. Every "100% win trick" on YouTube or Telegram either misunderstands probability or is selling something.

Dragon Tiger Prediction, Hacks and "Winning Tricks": Do They Work?

Searches for Dragon Tiger prediction tools, predictor apps, pattern charts and hacks are very popular in India. Here is the honest answer: none of them can predict the next card.

  • Pattern charts show past results. Each round is independent, so a run of five Tiger wins does not make Dragon "due".
  • Prediction apps and "AI/GPT" predictors have no access to the shoe. At best they show random guesses; at worst they are built to steal account details or push you into a paid "VIP signal" group.
  • Hacks and mod APKs for real-money games do not work on licensed casino servers. Installing them risks malware on your phone.
  • Card counting gives a tiny, rare advantage near the end of an 8-deck shoe. Online tables reshuffle often, so in practice it is useless.

If a tool promises guaranteed profit, it is a scam. The house edge is built into every round.

Live Dragon Tiger

Most real-money play happens at Dragon Tiger live tables streamed from professional studios:

  • Evolution Dragon Tiger — the most popular version: Tie pays 11:1 and Suited Tie 50:1. Evolution also offers a First Person version with low limits for practice.
  • Playtech Dragon Tiger — Tie pays 10:1, with Odd/Even and Big/Small bets for each side.
  • Ezugi Dragon Tiger — popular with Indian players, often at low minimum bets; note that Tie pays only 8:1 here.
  • Pragmatic Play Live Dragon Tiger — fast rounds and extra side bets (Big/Small, Odd/Even, Red/Black).

If you enjoy live card games, try live baccarat at the same casinos too.

Can You Play Dragon Tiger for Free?

Yes, but only digital versions. Many casinos have an RNG Dragon Tiger demo with virtual credits, and Evolution's First Person Dragon Tiger runs at very low stakes. Live dealer tables are real money only. A demo is the easiest way to see how fast the game moves before you set a budget.

Dragon Tiger FAQ

In Dragon vs Tiger, which side is better?

Neither. Both have exactly the same odds (46.27%) and the same 3.73% house edge. Pick whichever you like.

Is Dragon Tiger a game of skill or chance?

Pure chance. Once you place your bet, two cards decide everything, and no choice you make changes the odds. The only decisions that matter are which bet you pick and how much you stake.

How much can I win in one round of Dragon Tiger?

Dragon and Tiger pay 1:1. The biggest standard payout is the Suited Tie at 50:1, so a ₹100 bet returns ₹5,100 (your ₹100 plus ₹5,000). Side bets have their own maximum stakes, shown in the table's paytable.

How often does a suited tie happen in Dragon Tiger?

Rarely: both cards must match in rank and suit, such as two Queens of hearts. With eight decks that happens in about 1 round in 59 (1.69%), which is why it pays 50:1 — and why it still costs 13.97% of what you bet over time.

Why do Big, Small, Odd and Even bets lose on a 7?

Seven is the middle card, with six ranks below it and six above, so it is neither Big nor Small. Making 7 a losing card for all these 1:1 side bets is how the casino builds its edge into them.

Is Dragon Tiger rigged?

Licensed live studios such as Evolution, Ezugi and Playtech deal real cards on camera and are audited. Unlicensed "real cash" apps are a different story. If you cannot see who runs the app and where it is licensed, do not deposit.

Is Dragon Tiger the same as Andar Bahar?

No. In Andar Bahar, cards are dealt to two sides until one matches the opening card. In Dragon Tiger, each side gets one card and the higher card wins.
